Episode 1 - Lee Priest trains shoulders and calves with Bruce, lunch at KFC, Q and A with Lee, Lee’s house. This was filmed in late 2006 at Pure Austin Gym in Austin, Texas. Filmed by Scott York at Pure Austin Fitness in December 2005. Austin, Texas (approximately 60 minutes).
Random thoughts from Scott York:
The background music in the gym was too loud, so I learned to politely ask them to turn it down in future episodes. First time to "officially" meet Lee. I was nervous. I was using a Sony miniDV Handycam SD. I directed Lee and Bruce (my first ever Director's job). "Arguing" over where to go eat Lunch. Shooting into the sun while interviewing Lee who was driving my Dodge Ram truck. Took 9 minutes to get into steroid talk. When we were sitting outside of KFC, Lee was so patient answering my questions on camera while waiting to go inside and eat.
Episode 2- Lee trains triceps with Richard Stone at Gold's Gym in Austin, Adela’s birthday party (Adela was Lee’s fiance during this time), Lee trains biceps with Richard Stone, Lee shows us and starts up his 650 horsepower Mustang GT, Lee's favorite songs, Lee's NHRA card. Austin, Texas 2006 (approx 35 minutes).
Random thoughts from Scott York:
The original video editor misspelled words such as "starring" which he spelled "staring". This wasn't a good way to impress Lee as we were in the early stages of our business relationship. In this episode, episode #2, the video editor cut the episode to about 35 minutes in length when it was supposed to be 60 minutes at a minimum. He was a busy man but we needed to put out a quality product so I began to look around for another editor. We meet Richard Stone in this episode. Lee talks about the Craig Titus/Kelly Ryan incident which landed Craig and Kelly in prison. Lee jokes that Bruce (episode #1) never shows up to work out. The audio is passable in this episode but the gym music is loud. I'm using a Sony Handycam SD miniDV to film but I do not have a shotgun mic yet. Lee is very entertaining and is easy to film.
Episode 3 - Lee trains legs with Richard Stone at Golds Gym, races the Twinlab dragster in California, Lee eats at the famous bodybuilding restaurant “The Firehouse”, a guest appearance by IFBB Pro Jerome Ferguson, what’s in Lee’s wallet? Filmed in Austin and California (approx 60 minutes).
Random thoughts from Scott York:
Still using the original editor on this episode and the introduction is so 1980's. The content in this episode is full of variety. You'll see Lee doing legs at Gold's Gym, racing the Twinlab dragster in California, eating at The Firehouse restaurant in Venice, California, and much more!
Episode 4 - The Arnold Expo, Adela's fitness contest, Lee's bodybuilding contest pre-judging and night show including Lee's Superman routine, travel home to Australia with Lee, posing,
training, meeting Lee's family and friends, National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) races in Houston. Filmed in Ohio, Australia, Houston, and Austin, Texas
(approx 60 minutes)
Random thoughts from Scott York:
Lee was still living in Austin, Texas at the time of this filming. Since I live in Austin too, I thought it would be interesting to film parts of Austin so that the viewers of this video could see what Austin has to offer. So one day, a friend drove me around the central part of Austin and I filmed lots of stuff including the School For The Blind, Hyde Park Gym which is an Austin landmark and still home to lots of powerlifters, bodybuilders, and everyday gym-goers.
In this episode, Lee is doing some heavy-duty dieting for a few bodybuilding shows that he has coming up. This is a good chance to see how he is when dieting. Quieter, more intense but still friendly with a good sense of humor. Richard Stone was Lee's training partner during this time. Richard owns TKO Nutrition in the Austin, Texas area. Richard got to travel with Lee for appearances, guest posing, and more during his time with Lee.
Lee was engaged to Adela Garcia at this point in his life so you'll lots of Adela in this episode. Tony Doughtery picks up Lee and Adela at the Airport in the Gold Coast of Australia as Tony is the promoter for the contest in which Lee is guest posing.
Lee's family is shown in this episode as well. His sister, mother, father-in-law, daughter, and friends.
Episode 5 - Australian Grand Prix, Lee in the pump-up room, competing on stage, Adela Garcia guest pose routine, out to eat with family and friends, Lee’s house in Australia, touring a local gym in Australia, a seminar appearance with Lee, dessert with Lee, breakfast with Lee, Lee gets a massage, sightseeing, the zoo, hotel room. Filmed in Australia (approximately 75 minutes).
Random thoughts from Scott York:
We were starting to find our groove with episode 5 of BodyBuildersReality. Lee was now accustomed to either being filmed or doing the filming himself. I would just give him the video camera and he would bring it back to Austin with tons of footage. I would mail it to the video editor, hoping that we get a finished video back promptly. Although the zoo scenes went on a little too long in my opinion, overall this was a great episode.
Episode 6 - Lee eating at IHOP (International House Of Pancakes), Superfan, Frank Sanders from New York, spends time with Lee. Lee puts Frank through a leg workout, Lee changes his hair color, Ronnie Coleman Classic, What's in Lee's pantry? Filmed in Austin, Dallas/Ft. Worth, Texas. (approximately 75 minutes)
Episode 7 -Lee and Richard Stone train biceps, talks religion, Joe Vitale from "The Secret", Lee and friends go to an amusement park called "Fiesta, Texas", Lee makes an appearance at
City Blends smoothies grand opening, dinner at P.F. Changs. Filmed in Austin, Texas, and San Antonio, Texas (approximately 60 minutes)
Episode 8 (two downloads) - Lee trains chest at Gold's Gym Lakeline in Austin, Texas with a teenager (Adam) whom he met at his apartment complex. Lee trains biceps and triceps at Gold’s Gym 620 in Austin. Lots of training, laughs, and insights into the world of bodybuilding according to Lee. Austin (approximately 120 minutes).
Episode 9 (two downloads) - Lee trains back with a brand new workout partner named Ed Brown, Jr. They train back, shoulders, Mustang GT updated, doughnuts, Subway Sandwich restaurant, and Zingers (cupcakes) for dessert. Scott Peckham. Filmed in Austin (approximately 90 minutes).
Random thoughts from Scott York:
When this episode was available on DVD, it was a double DVD. This episode is around 90 minutes long and contains 2 digital downloads - one download is part 1, the other is part 2.
Lee trains back with Ed Brown, Jr. at Gold's Gym Lakeline in Austin, Texas, and then shoulders on another day at Gold's Gym 620 in Austin. These were their first workouts together.
I introduced Ed to Lee. Lee and Ed start with some heavy deadlifts in the power rack, v-bar rows, seated cable rows, pulldowns to the front, and machine close grip pulldowns.
For shoulders, they do machine presses, DB presses, DB laterals, and rear machine laterals. In this episode, we meet Scott Peckham, the former husband of Monica Brant. Scott was training to get in shape for a bodybuilding competition. We started talking and the next thing you know, Fitness and Figure Reality was born with Monica Brant. This was a DVD of the month featuring, you guessed it, Monica Brant.
Scott Peckham and Lee are both dieting for contests so we get them talking about their favorite cheat foods and restaurants. We check in with Lee's Mustang GT which is now at 650 horsepower. Next month, Lee plans to add a methane booster, a new converter, suspension, and bigger brakes. Lee breaks down and eats some doughnuts, zingers, and a Subway sandwich and he's only 4 weeks out from his contest. There's a little bit of technical/degradation at the end of the vts files, making the volume cut out for a split second. (approximately 90 minutes).
Episode 10 - Lee rushes to the emergency room to get a shoulder infection taken care of, Lee trains arms at Gold's Gym with Ed Brown, Jr., Lee competes in a PDI bodybuilding contest, Lee has an emergency root canal, Lee attends Mr. Olympia 2006 press conference and films the action. Austin, England, Las Vegas (approximately 90 minutes).
Random thoughts from Scott York:
Lee is in contest shape in this episode and the arm workout is a must-see. Incredibly, Lee is still able to compete after the shoulder infection not to mention having to deal with a root canal right after he returns from England which is where the PDI bodybuilding contest takes place.
Episode 11 -
PDI Bodybuilding contest in England, Seminar, Mr. Olympia weekend, a day at the races, a photo shoot with a popular muscle magazine photographer, racing at the dragstrip (approximately 90 minutes)
Episode 12 - Lee trains legs with his workout partner, Eva at Gold's Gym, off 183 in Austin, Texas. Lee goes home to Australia and visits family and friends. Lee plays an epic trick on his mother. He gets his mom to jump up and down on her driveway because Lee has told her to do this so he can see her via a satellite in America. Wait until you see her reaction after she realizes that it's all just a joke. Next, Lee joins his family for Sunday dinner. They have bacon, eggs, steak, potatoes, and vegetables. Lee is still giving his mom a hard time about falling for the prank that he pulled on her. Lee shows us some wild animals in his backyard and then introduces us to his nieces and nephews. Lee mows the yard. He's gained over 30lbs since his last bodybuilding contest. Lee tries to launch his new remote-controlled toy airplane in the backyard with less than stellar success. Lee visits his nephew's school and does some exercise with the kids. One of the school teachers can't help herself and feels his muscles. We go on a crocodile hunting expedition with Lee and his mom. Lee shows us around Newcastle beach and points out where he used to swim when he was growing up. Lastly, we go fishing with Lee and his daughter and visit Maitland Gaol, a now-closed prison. (approximately 65 minutes).
