Six Weeks Universe Training – Tip #4
Welcome to Tip #4 of Ed Brown, Jr’s Six Week Journey To The Universe!
Three weeks out!
Are you using your powers of concentration and focus to get the most out of your workouts? Science shows that, like our brains, we only use 25-30% of our muscle fibers. What would happen if we could engage more of our brains, more of our muscle fibers?
The Russians showed us by winning most of the Gold Medals in the 1976 Olympics. How did they do this? They developed super powers of focus and concentration that they learned from Holocaust survivors. American Scientist, Charles Garfield, PhD experienced this training directly by the Russians and increased his bench press by 65lbs after spending just 45 minutes with the Russians. He wrote about this in his book, “Peak Performance” which you can find on Amazon.
Practice your focus in the gym. Practice concentration. Leave the smart phone in your gym bag. Get rid of distractions. You’re there to train.
Start this weeks tip by watching the video below:
World Class Bodybuilding Success Tip:
For 1 week, spend 5 minutes improving your powers of concentration. Find a quiet spot. Take 10 deep breaths. Pick a spot on the wall and focus on it for 5 minutes. Set a timer. If you feel yourself becoming distracted and start thinking of your wife, husband, job, etc, REEL YOUR MIND back in. Finish up the 5 minutes. Do this everyday for 1 week. Increase the time to 7 minutes for week 2. Do this everyday for another 7 days.
Did you improve? Are you stronger? Do you have less distractions? You should. You’ve been training your mind, working on your concentration and focus.
World Class Workout Challenge:
Get rid of the sauces. If you’re trying to get shredded, get rid of the ketchup, mayo, salsa (too much sodium), salad dressing, etc. Make a deal with yourself to go a week without them. Use lemon, Mrs. Dash or other sugar free, low sodium alternatives. You’ll be amazed at how much tighter and leaner you become.
